Upon buying a theme and installing it, users often experience a moment where their momentum is stopped cold. That moment when you take the first look at your newly installed theme and realize just how much work is still ahead of you.
That’s the moment you realize (after spending your hard earned money) that your site looks nothing like the demo site that sold you on the theme in the first place.
Instead, when you install it–you get something that looks like this.
Technically, nothing. This is just what a theme without content looks like. And there’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, once you’ve populated it with your own content it’ll look exactly like it did in the demo. Or rather your own unique version of the demo.
But wouldn’t it be great if you could start with something that looked exactly like the demo and then tweak things from there?
Of course it would!
After all, it’s a lot easier to figure out what works and what doesn’t when you can see it in front of you.
That’s where the new Cohhe content import tool comes in. This is a feature that works with all new Cohhe themes. That includes Environmental, and Snaptube. Plus anything that comes out in 2015 and beyond!
If you’ve purchased one of these themes, here’s how you can import all of our demo content in just a few clicks.
Step 1: Install & Activate Required Plugins
Inside your WP-Admin you’ll want to navigate to Appearance > Themes where you will see this quick setup guide.
Go ahead and click the first button to install the required plugins. Once you do that, you will see a panel like the one below appear.
Using either the bulk action tool or going about it one-by-one, activate each of these plugins. When you have finished you will be ready to move ahead to step two.
Step 2: Import Demo Content
Now you can click on the second button to import all of the demo content for that theme. It literally only takes a few seconds to load. When you go back to the front-facing side of your website it’ll look just like the demo!
Step 3: Take the Tour or Dive In On Your Own
Now that you’ve got a much better starting place you can choose to continue just a little longer on the “guided path” by taking the tour. Or you can jump in and begin working on whatever aspect of your new site you’d like to tackle first. If you do take the tour, you’ll be taken to the theme options page right away where you can begin configuring the theme settings to your liking.
Just like that, you’re done! Or rather, you’ve begun, but just from a much preferred starting point. If anything in the above steps or sections was unclear or didn’t work properly for you, feel free to drop us a comment below and/or follow up in our support forums.
